Back in 2015, I wrote a blog post all about the DIY fabric dye technique known as 'ice dye' and was utterly blown away by the response it’s received ever since. There’s so much to love — from the ease of set up, the array of possibilities, and the truly one-of-a- kind results.

If you’re new to ice dyeing, it’s very straightforward and most of the work is in the set up. Essentially, you’re using ice to activate a dye powder and the melting of the ice draws the dye into the fabric. The results are totally different each time and reminiscent of watercolor.
